So, what’s new with me?
I talked about the whole diet and weight loss thing last week, but I guess there’s more that has been happening so far this year than just that. Nothing groundbreaking or earth shattering really, but most of it has been a big deal in my life, so I guess I’ll divulge.
I finally cut my hair.
If you know me in real life, you’ve probably seen my hair in its natural territory and as such – probably understand why the title of this site is named what it is. I HAVE A LOT OF HAIR. On my head. Maybe other places too but that’s just what makes me so mysterious, you just don’t know. In early March, I finally gathered up the courage to make a fresh start and go from my tailbone length sister-wife-esque hair, to something more modern, shoulder length and blonde! Luckily my cousin works at a salon in my hometown, so I lucked out big time and didn’t have to make small talk to a stranger. It took 5 hours, I feel like I tortured the crap out of her, but oh my god does it ever look and feel better!
My main employer just recently lifted their restrictions on having “unnatural” hair colors, so I am thinking of doing something edgier next time. All these new color trends are so pretty, and I think I’m still young enough to have blue hair, right? I’m definitely weird enough…
I got another part-time job.
I have an insatiable lust for vintage and retro ANYTHING, especially everything from the late 60’s and 70’s. I also, for various reasons, have decent knowledge of various antiques and collectibles from my years of diving head first into various bins at thrift stores and the occasional dumpster or two. Finding treasures out of other people’s refuse is my literal drug of choice and I am strangely good at it, or maybe just insanely lucky.
Anyway, if you’re coming through my neck of the woods this summer, you may find me at the local antique store peddling the wares painstakingly picked by my bosses. “Which antique store?” you may ask? THE GOOD ONE. The one with me inside! It’s like a treasure hunt this way too.
I’m immersed in fantasy and lore.
I guess it’s that time of year again where I spend way too much of my free time sitting at the computer and smashing my keyboard at things. I LOVE MMO GAMES, even if I play them badly and can’t properly do a dungeon to save my life. I’ve been jumping around between TERA and Black Desert Online these past few months and for free to play games, they’re great, but I felt like I needed to go back to something with more of a story line and a reliable user base. I am so, so done with World of Warcraft, and I heard that this last expansion wasn’t the best, so that was off my list, but then I remembered Final Fantasy XIV and figured HECK, might as well.
I took the time this time around to actually try and learn the game mechanics and have been having a blast on my little potato healer. It’s kinda lonely though since I have a very long way to go for any end game content and mostly run through zones mouth breathing and poorly casting spells to save my ass. If you play the game and looking to also run around and under perform on simple in-game tasks, I’d love some company!
So there you have it. What’s up with me in a nutshell.
